Non Destructive Testing

Non destructive testing (NDT) is a process used to evaluate different properties of a material, component or a system without causing any damage to it. Different methods such as ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, radiographic testing and eddy current testing are used in performing NDT.

Florescent Penetrant Inspection:

FLUORESCENT PENETRANT INSPECTION (FPI) is a nondestructive testing is a type of dye penetration inspection in which a fluorescent dye is applied to the surface of the non porus material for detecting discontinuities or defects like cracks, seams, laps, cold shuts, laminations, and porosity that are open to the surface. The main steps involved in the Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection are Initial cleaning, penetrant application, excess dye removal, developer application, inspection and final cleaning. The main advantage of this type of inspection is that the fluorescent inspection is ideal for even the smallest imperfections. This process is also simple and low cost.

Rockwell Hardness Testing:

Rockwell harness testing is a process of obtaining the harness of a material based on indentation hardness of the material.
